We have collected a whopping 100,000 signatures to get the repeal of Chapter 40B on the November 2010 election ballot.  Many thanks to the hundreds of volunteers and the donors who helped make this goal possible.

This was the first major hurdle in a series of 3, and we have jumped over it with height to spare!  The next hurdle involves the State Legislature.  The legislators have until May 2nd to officially move the question onto the 2010 ballot.  Historically, they do not like to support ballot questions, so please take a moment to call your local legislators, reference bill number 4455 and ask them to place the question to repeal Chapter 40B on the November 2010 ballot.  If you do not have the contact information, our allies in the repeal movement, the Slow Growth Initiative have posted the information here!

Of course, the third hurdle will be the vote in November.  We need to stop the 40B profiteers from getting out their misinformation and false claims meant to mislead the voters.  We are so close to seeing this law removed from the books forever and together we can make it happen!

40B Puts Developer Profits in Front of People

Stopping 40B means restoring funding to existing affordable housing laws that actually help people. The means by which we produce affordable housing is as important as the resulting housing itself. By investing in our struggling communities, we can begin to recover from the devastation of 40B and work towards a sustainable future and strong economy.
